Ayr is famous for being the birthplace of the internationally renowned poet Robert Burns and the Burn’s Cottage and museum is a popular tourist attraction. Culzean Castle, owned by the National Trust for Scotland, is only a 20 minute drive down the beautiful Ayrshire coastline.

Ayrshire also hosts over 30 golf courses, including the famous Open Championship courses Turnberry, Old Prestwick and Royal Troon and quality municipal courses such as Belleisle and Lochgreen. As a member of the South Ayrshire Hoteliers Golf Association special course fees are available for guests playing at the local municipal golf courses.

Golf packages with flights and transfers are also available through our agent Roland Holm (www.gailestravel.com).

If you are planning a trip to Ayr why not stop over for a few days, there is plenty to do and see for all ages. I shall look forward to extending a warm welcome to all those visiting the Burnside Guest House.
