Club Championships 2008 / Box Leagues Winter 2008/2009 - Prestwick Tennis

The club has run its first Winter Championships over the last three months, culminating in the finals on the afternoon of Saturday 28th March. The event was well attended by spectators who enjoyed the refreshments provided by the club and organised by the tennis committee. The results were as follows:
Mens Singles: Adam Stevenson beat Allan McClure
Ladies Singles: Catriona Gaskell beat Jamie C Smith
Mens Doubles: Adam Stevenson and Kris Gray Beat Peter Monan and Alex Wilson
Ladies Doubles: Judith Martin and Fiona Price beat Cheryll Cameron and Jill Shennan
Mixed Doubles: Michelle Whitelaw and Kris Gray beat Frances Rodman and Alex Wilson
The Summer Championships will be held over a weekend in late summer.
 
The club is also running box leagues the first of which started in January for all five classes as above. These are played over 2 months and then restarted in March with relegation / promotion having taken place. Six ladies did so well that their ratings will be improved from 9.1 to 8.2. After this box league run there will be a break until July to make time for the Senior Ayrshire league matches.
